If you want to achieve everything you can in life, then you’ve got to learn how to set goals and accomplish them. This holds true in every single area of life. Take money, for example. Many people do OK in life, they’re fairly successful, or at least make enough money to get by. Their bills are paid, they have enough to eat out and see a movie once a week, and their biggest dream is to have enough money for a big high definition TV set. And if that’s all they want out of life, that’s fine.
But when you learn how to set goals and achieve them, you can have, be, and do so much more than a person who just drifts through life with no goals, no plans, just some vague hopes that they’ll be able to roll with the punches as they come along. You’ll be way ahead of the pack, because, frankly, most people don’t have any goals. They’ve gotten to where they are in life mostly by accident or knowing people, or just sheer luck.
When you learn how to set and achieve goals, you won’t find yourself sitting around wishing for this or that to happen. You’ll be making things happen – the things you’ve decided you want to see in your life. You won’t need luck, because you’ll be making your own.
You’ll have a clear idea of what you want, you’ll have a plan to achieve it, and you won’t have to depend on catching a few lucky breaks to make your dreams come true. The power of goal setting is incredible – you can’t really know just how powerful it is until you start doing it. But once you develop this habit, get ready for your life to change dramatically.
